What Causes Insomnia While On Percocet?

I recently had surgery. I was given Percocet for pain. After 5-6 days days I quit taking it. I didn t like the way it made me feel. For 2 weeks, I have been unable to sleep more than 2-3 hours a night or less. Did my sudden going off the meds cause my sleeplessness?

since percocet is a combination of acetaminophen which is a pain reliever and oxycodone which is an narcotic it is likely that the sleep cycle is disturbed due to its sudden withdrawal.
please use this only if the pain is intolerable because of the side effects especially liver damage and acute withdrawal symptoms.
