What Causes Insomnia And Agitation After Taking Seroquel And Trazodone?
my son is 32 and taking Seroquel and trzadone in the evening before bed as prescribed. Last night, within abot 30 min of taking these meds he became unable to sleep and agitated for about 3 hours. He has been diagnosed with scizoaffective disorder Are these 2 meds interaction somehow?
Both trazodone and seroquel are antidepressants. Neither of the two drugs causes insomnia but when taken together, these two drugs interact and can increase the risk of irregular heart rhythm which may be serious and that might be the reason why you were feeling agitated.
I'd suggest consulting your prescribing doctor for a review.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.
