What Causes Insomnia After Withdrawing From Phenergan?

i have been on 10mg phenergan for about 10 years - i want to wean off - should i do it cold turkey?? i am cutting down slowly - but having problems sleeping now. Should i just keep getting lower and then off?? i started on it for hayfever, then severe eczema, now i am in control of my symptoms and want to get off it

Phenergan is antipsychotic drug.
It will definitely cause withdrawal symptoms like insomnia if you stop it suddenly.
So better to gradually (over 2-3 months) taper down it to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
