What Causes Inflammation In The Lower Abdomen After Taking Abortion Pills?

I have taken abortion pills prescribed by a ginecologyst /obstetrician . There was a shot given on Tuesday August the 4th and some pills given to me orally on that same date. I was told to start taking misoprostol on the evening of last Sunday August 10th . I am experiencing cramping , my main concern is some inflammation in my lower abdominal area. I m very concern about an infection . Please , any answer regarding my concerns would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
The cramps that you are feeling is a process occuring in abortion.
The uterus is cramping and contracting so as to dislodge the product of conceptus and will try to expel it from uterus like a period contaning the fetus.
You will have your periods very soon as the process of abortion must have already begun. Just take the meds as advised by doctor on time. It does not mean that there is infection. But if you still have doubt of it get a CBC done. If total count is high it can suggest infection and you can consult your doctor for the same.
