What Causes Inflammation And Strain In The Eyes?

I have suffered for years from irritated eyes. The eyes feel inflamed especially towards the evening. The eyelids get heavy, my eyes are tired. Sometimes they feel gritty, usually they feel strained. I keep blinking and I have developed a twitch at the mouth. Cold and dark seems to bring relief. I have been diagnosed with Blepharitis. I wash my eyes with mild baby shampoo, use warm compress and take antibiotics daily. Tried restesis, but to no affect. This has impacted my quality of life greatly.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Please feel free to write me anytime. Blepharitis is not an easy disease to afford but take all your visits that the specialist occulist has asked for and take the medication he prescribed. Meanwhile take care of your eye hygiene, avoid cosmetics ans use your personal towel. Massage regularly your eyelids and eat a diet full of omega 3. Please, do not worry about having strained eyes. In your case it is normal.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Eni
