What Causes Increase In Heart Beat Rate?
I am a 44 year old male and every 3-4 months or so, my heart beat tends to race for no apparent reason. It last for about a day or two before it goes back to normal. My GP has said there is not much they can do as it never happens in their presence, but I am obviously quiet conserned.

You have not given how much the heart rate, because this is the important for to know whether this is tachycardia or not, although if this is sensation of palpitation then this is nothing to worry, even some time in male patients heat rate increases according to the physical activity, hope this helps, take care.
