Hi there In the past five months i have gotten pregnant with both ending in miscarriages. My first was in February being pregnant a month and two days. And the second being eight days ago and i was 7 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I had done a US two days before miscarriage and there was heart beat and pregnancy going well but then all of sudden started bleeding and lost the baby. I went to two doctors and they are unable to tell me why. I did TORCH testing and from reading turns out have IgG positive for both Rubella and CMV but doctors say does not cause miscarriage. Results are: Rubella IGM - 2.1 UI/ml Rubella IgG - 28 UI/ml CMV IGM - 0.04 UI/ml CMV IgG- 35 UI/ml Does this cause miscarriage? Im really upset and would like to know why i cant maintain a pregnancy
Hello, It is important for you to understand that pregnancies ending in miscarriage are very common. We know that about 20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage and the number is probably higher because some women miscarry even before they know they are pregnant. I know that it is very difficult when it happens to you, but doctors do not consider it an inability to carry a pregnancy until you have had 3 miscarriages. Hopefully your next pregnancy will be healthy and full term. Take good care of yourself. Take prenatal vitamins daily, exercise every day at least walking for 30 minutes and eat a healthy diet. Don't smoke or drink alcohol and see your doctor regularly. Regards
