What Causes Immobility In The Arms?

Hi. My name is Christal. My mom is 65 years old and has had a condition for the past 11 years which started after giving birth to my little sister. We have been to all the doctors in our country but no one can seem to find the cause. She is unable to move her arms, sit up, walk or even turn on her own. She has done MRIs, X-Rays and other tests. Does anyone know anything about this illness?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It may be due to deltoid nerve injury or dystrophy or myositis etc..

check serum cpk level, serum creatinine or ESR or muscle biopsy etc..

until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

consult your neurophysician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
