What Causes Hyper Sensitivity And Inflammation On Toe?
About 3 weeks ago I noticed my second toe was sensitive and red above my nail. I don t recall injuring it or having any sign of fungus. Yesterday I realized my toe nail was detached from the cuticle. I m doing Epsom salt soaks to help soften and soothe the nail bed and to relieve pain. But how do I prevent infection. I also keep neosporin and a bandaid on it while wearing shoes. Will that help or make the risk of infection higher?

From history it seems that there might be having nail bed infection giving this problem.
It is possible that nail might come out as it is detached and afterwards proper healing will be there.
Band aid might delay the healing due to obstructing ventilation so clean the part and apply antibiotic cream and keep the part open.
If require go for one antibiotic medicine course for 3-5 days.
Ok and take care.
