What Causes Hives Like Swelling After Botox Injection In Face?
I received Botox brand by allergan injection in my forehead and smile line around my eyes. I have terrible hive like swelling...itch mosquito bite feeling...at the injection sites. I have had Botox many times before and am wondering could it be that I have developed an allergy to it, or to the preservative it is packaged in? Also this doctor prefers a subcutaneous or intra dermal injection, not intramuscular. I have had droopy eyelids before from another doctors admin IM. Please help. Do u know what preservative is in the bottle? Thank u

Based on the symptoms, it is possible that you have an allergic. The use of an oral antihistamine would help, these are normally over the counter eg benadryl, claritine, zyrtec.
Unsure as to the preservative and other inactive ingredients in the botox used.
