What Causes High Grade Fever After Having Penicillin For Strep Throat?

HI, my son was diagnosed with strep throat on Wed. He's been on penicillin since then.
He has ran a fever as high as 104.1. He has seemed ok but today he is complaining of his neck hurting. His fever now is around 100.5. should we be concerned.

Had I know that I would have had to pay, I would not have wasted my time...thought this was a free service. YOu should put the cost amount onthe front page. Very disappointed.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The antibiotics should be effective in treating strep unless the particular bacteria is resistant to the antibiotics.

This would be suspected if the symptoms do not resolve even after the course has been completed.

Continue the course as prescribed. He may also need pain medication to help reduce his discomfort.

I hope this helps
