What Causes High Fever And Pain Behind The Head?

I realised I got a 102 degree fever this Wednesday when I returned home from work. I did not have a cough or cold but a dull ache at the back of my head. I took crocin advance and woke up at night sweating however in the morning the fever was back. Repeated this on Thursday to get the same result. On Friday I visited a doctor nearby who checked me and gave me some unnamed colour pills which I took yday night...Which worked exactly like the paracetamol did. Is a fever unaccompanied by a cold and cough supposed to last this long...Been 4 days now...Or have I been misdiagnosed.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Sounds to be acute viral or bacterial upper respiratory tract infection which can present without cough and cold in many instances. Crocin sounds to be anti pyretic, rather than curative.

Additional intake of antibiotic, anti inflammatory and supportive measures are needed for infection control.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
