What Causes High Fever Along With Cold And Cough?
My daughter is 6 years old and has had a fever since Monday evening. Its now Friday. Not getting much better. I give her Ibuprofen and the fever will return in about 8 hours. Runny nose and cough are only other systems. Sleepy when the fever comes on, but fine when the ibuprofen is working. The fever gets high 103, 104 and one time hit 105. Saw the doctor on Wednesday. Said it was a viral infection....do I wait longer, call the Dr. back? Thanks in advance.

A viral fever goes away in a week. If it's been more than 5-6 days and there's no signs of improvement then please do call back your doctor. Your kid might require antibiotics and further tests.
Meanwhile keep the temperature under control.
Give Ibuprofen every 8th hourly. Do some tepid sponging.
