Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, Yes, I have just found out that I have high ferritin levels in the blood. My doctor has sent me for tests for hemachromatosis but I haven t got results yet. Is there any other cause. I have had low grad infections, fatigue, joint and muscle pain intermittently for years but am otherwise declared healthy.
High values of ferritinemia are mostly from an inflammation situation of the body. If not, we should search for hemochromatosis. You can't do nothing except waiting for the tests result.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
