What Causes Hiccup After Taking Clarithromycin And Prednisone?
my husband is taking 1000mg of clarithromycin and 40 mg of prednisone perscribed by his ENT specialist. He is getting such bad bouts of hiccups that last for up to a 1/2 hour about 10 to 15 times a day. What can he do. He needs to clear up this infection in his sinus cavity

* Hiccup after clarithro and predni is due to drug-induced gastritis.
* Guidelines for the best recovery
- consumption of antiemetic as Ondansetron and H 2 blocker as ranitidine (300 mg ) on empty stomach 1 hour before intake of the above-mentioned drugs.
- use skimmed milk or ice cream along with clarithro and predni
- avoid spices, non-veg and junk foods with dairy fat during the treatment course.
