What Causes Heel Pain In The Morning And Evening?

I sometimes get a sharp pain at the bottom of my right heel, this pain is noticeable in the morning When I awake and rise out of bed. As the day progresses in my different activities the pain is not noticeable, However at the end of day esp. In the evening it comes back. I am 63 male and quite active physically.

The pain in the heal may be caused by a swelling in fascia known as plantar fascitis and in the growth of a part of bone or heel known as calcaneal spur. It would be better to have a X-ray of heel done to rule out bony growth. However bony growth gives rise to pain during walking. It is better to apply a counter irritant gel such as volini in the night to relieve morning pain.
