What Causes Heavy And Irregular Periods?
I am a 49 year old women. I have been having a period every two weeks for the past 6 weeks. I am healthy active and not overweight. I don t take any medications except nose spray and prescription allergy mess. I do have heavy periods but fairly regular. I cannot get in to see my Obgyn until August. I do have an appointment with my general Doctor next week.

Heavy & irregular periods at your age are mostly due to premenopausal changes.
Still, it is advisable to get a full gynecological check-up to exclude any other cause for the symptoms.
From that point of view, it's important to consult a gynecologist earlier.
