What Causes Heaviness In The Lower Abdomen?

Hi Doctor, I have recently got my abdomen scan done. Excepting for the renal calculi which is there since 5 to 6 years everything else is normal. Prostate is 16 mg and the doctor said it is normal and all other parts are normal. However I have heaviness in the lower abdomen portion. Urine flow is also ok excepting a few times urgency to pass urine. I am taking Gokshura, Bangshil, Virataradi Kashayam, and Brihatyadi Kashayam for renal calculi. Of late since a month and a half my sleep is disturbed very badly. For almost 30 days I have taken antihistamine Alerfix total for my cold and cough problem along with two courses of antibiotics. Cefpod for 5 days and again Azithral 500 for five days. I have taken sleeping pills stresnil 0.25 mg for 15 days for sleep as advised by doctor. I do not want to continue taking sleeping pills regularly. Hence I request you to kindly suggest how to overcome this problem and get back to regular sleeping pattern. Please suggest for recurrent cold and heaviness in the lower abdomen also. Regards. For sleep I have tried Sunidra of Baidyanath and Manasamitra Vatakam of Kottakkal Aryavaidya sala.

Oncologist 's  Response
Hello,

These noncancerous uterine growths may cause pressure or a feeling of heaviness in your lower abdomen. They rarely cause sharp pain unless they become deprived of blood supply and begin to die (degenerate). Irritable bowel syndrome.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Esmeralda Sera, Oncologist
