Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history childbirth 25 years ago, got belly
button hernia, got operated to repair hernia and tie the tubes the day after. Now feels that there is something in belly behind belly button, fells better with empty stomach, no solid bowel movements in years, have
colonoscopy, barium swallow test, all normal.
Since you have already undergone surgery 5 years ago, the present position can be a hernia again or just a feeling of something there but not actually present in a sens that the nerves can get stretched or entrapped and you get the feeling.
If there is something you can undergone the following:
High resolution
ultrasonography with the knowledge of the
Radiologist what he has to look for.
MRI or CT for confirmation.
Clinical evaluation and examination by a
General Surgeon can be really diagnostic to see whether there is impulse on coughing and whether there is reducibility.
This will either confirm or rule out the diagnosis of hernia and can find something else like adhesions and so on.
Further treatment depends upon the findings.
Eating something can make the stomach full and increasing your symptoms.
