I am a 57 year old woman. Last July I was life flighted and ended up having double Phnemonia, Acute Respiratory Failure and Broken Heart Syndrome. I have now been told that I have COPD and an enlarged heart. I use oxygen at night. For the last three weeks I have been having heart palpitations and shortness of breath (more than usual). More times than not it happens first thing in the morning when I get up. It will happen even if I only take a couple of steps. I have to sit down for 10-15 minutes and concentrate on my breathing for it too go away. I just had an EKG and blood work done last week and they were normal. Sounds like a lot of people have this and it comes and goes. Yesterday I had to take the entire day off work as I was very tired and ended up getting a bad headache. I have noticed in the last couple of months that I am very tired in the mornings even if I don t have one of these episodes. I live by myself in the mountains and the nearest medical facility is 1 1/2 hours away. I do have neighbors though. Any suggestions?
