What Causes Hearing Loss In The Right Ear?

Awhile back I randomly had muffled hearing in my right ear. I went and had it flushed out, but there wasn t anything in there. It s been a few weeks and I still don t have all of my hearing, plus it s starting to ache and cause pain in my neck. Are the two possibly related?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There is strong correlation with ear ache, neck discomfort and hearing loss. Various issues as cochlear nerve, middle ear ossicles, fluid changes in endolymph or perilymph, tympanic membrane issues or conduction pathway defect at central level.

I recommend a clinical evaluation with ENT specialist and necessary work up as per the clinician choice.

Thanks.

Regards.
