Hello!

Thank you for your question on HCM! I appreciate your concern.

The symptoms you describe are caused by a bacterial infection. The vegetation on atrial surface of the atrioventricular valve are indicative for a bacterial endocarditis. This is a heart infection which can cause bacterial embolism in distance to the brain and organs.

The headache and nausea may be caused by a brain abscess ( an accumulation of pus into the brain) from a bacterial embolism.

I would recommend to consult with your cardiologist and start treatment with the proper antibiotic.
A brain MRI would be necessary to exclude a possible brain abscess.

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings! Dr. Aida
