What Causes Headache While On Plavix?

My wife recently had her second stroke in 13 months, she is a 42YO white female. She has been having fairly bad headaches since the stroke. The doctors put her on plavix, that is the only new drug she is on. Could this be the reason for the headaches.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If the headaches began BEFORE the PLAVIX was started then, "No". Headaches may be a consequence of the stroke itself, that is POSSIBLE.

If the headaches began within a few days to a few weeks after starting Plavix then, it's quite possible that it could be the PLAVIX.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dariush Saghafi
