What Causes Headache, Joints Pain And Diarrhea?

My daughter has had what looks like a systemic reaction to poison ivy for two weeks. The rash covered her entire buttocks, much of her legs and arms. She has been on an oral and over-the-counter steroid. In the past several days, I developed a similar, very itchy rash on my buttocks and torso. We are now both experiencing headache, joint pain, fatigue and diarrhea. Seems like it could be something other than poison ivy.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to stomach infection. For that you may require complete hemogram, stool analysis, ultrasound abdomen after surgeon consultation. You may require antibiotics after consultation. For headache you can take tablet acetaminophen. Restrict your movements. For joint pain you can apply diclofenac gel or ointment locally. Heating pads may help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
