What Causes Headache, Back Pain And Lower Abdominal Cramps?

Hi.. I wonder if you can help me I am 50 years old and I am late with my menstrual 21 days, this happened before in December but then I went back to regular periods until now. I have been experiencing lower back pain and also cramping on my lower right side by my belly button, I have been really tired and having some headaches and going to the bathroom more often, I took a pregnancy test but it was negative. Can I still be pregnant? Or are these signs of pre-menopause ?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

First is necessary to have an abdominal ultrasound done in order to evaluate/exclude conditions such as kidneys stones, polycystic ovaries, etc. as possible causes of your symptoms. Once these and other possible abdominal conditions are excluded, we can say that it is most likely premenopause that is causing your issues. Since the pregnancy test was negative, pregnancy is very unlikely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
