What Causes Headache And Sore Back?

I have been experiencing these symptoms. very sore lower back,,period overdue 2 weeks- not pregnant,,age 43 ,re-occurring bad neck and head aches for few months,,periods are never pain free but its been feeling like its been coming forever ,,Im on blood pressure pills,lost 10 kg in 6 months ??????????????????,,smoker,last drink 6 months ago-

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to the beginning of the menopause or a chronic disorder.

The loss of weight raises suspicions of a chronic inflammatory disorder or a neoplasm.

For this reason, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician and performing some tests:

- a chest X ray study
- a bacbone X ray study
- an abdominal ultrasound
- some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate, thyroid hormone levels, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function tests, LDH)
- the levels of cancer antigens (CA 125, CA 15.3, CA 19.9, CEA).

If all the above tests result normal, there is nothing to worry about.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.
