I hope I am asking this questions correctly. I was bit by an unknown insect on the face and chest. An hour later I experienced weakness, headache, and a fever of 104. Noted urticarial reaction to the posterior left leg that progressed to waist and lower back. No change was noted until 5th day where throat swelled. Lab results were taken and 3 different strep tests were negative. elevated sedimentation rate of 100 and CRP of 14 was noted. I am being told this is infection due to strep. Is it possible to have elevated CRP and sedimentation rate in an allergic reaction?
