What Causes Headache And Fatigue While On Crestor?

I have had mixed connective disease for 25+ years & approx 6 wks ago started taking 20 mg of crestor once a week. Starting last week have had weakness of muscles, stiffness, headache & just feeling very weak. Believe the crestor is creating this feeling. Am going to stop taking it, but wonder how long it will take before I will start feeling any of these adverse side effects.

Hi,

Your hypothesis may well be correct, crestor may cause muscle damage in some patients. I suggest you have a creatine kinase level blood test (creatine kinase is raised in muscle damage) to confirm that though, if confirmed it should be interrupted at least temporarily. Once interrupted negative effects should reverse in about a couple of weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olsi Taka,
