What Causes Headache And Dry Cough While Treating CSF Leak From Nose?

Good Morning. my wife is suffering with CSF leak from noise for the last one month. There are no symptoms of headache. She is on bed rest for last 20 days. She is also suffering with dry cough from the same day and due to that bed rest is not helping to heal the CSF leak. We are currently using medicines for cough so that she would get enough rest . Can we wait for CSF leakage or do we need to reach doctor?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Possibility of meningitis must be ruled out, because there is high chance of spread of pathogens in patients suffering with CSF leak. Consult a neurologist and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
