What Causes Hard Feeling Around An Abscess?

I had an abscess lanced 3 days ago. Seems to be healing well and quickly. Although around the incision where the abscess used to be is ver hard. I removed the gauze after about 20 hrs and could jot get any more drainage. There is no pain, other than slight stinging from the cut. The lump does not hurt, its just hard. Is that normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Nothing to worry, this normal.
Accumulated pus is removed and now induration remains which gives this hard lump and it will be absorbed gradually.
Continue with dressing with antibiotic cream.
Ok and take care.
