What Causes Hard Bumps On Palms And Calves Of Legs?

I have small, hard bumps on my body, mostly on the palms of my have and calves of my legs. They are quite itchy. I did have dupuytrens in both of my hands and have had five surgeries to correct it. Each surgery worked well, but I now have it back in two fingers. When I pick at the hard bumps, what comes out is a fairly large white piece of grit. The grit seems bigger than the bump. Sometimes, after I take out the original piece of grit, a good bit more seems to well up from under my skin and I can pick it out as well. When I am picking on the bump, it makes me itch so badly, it feels like lightning bolts. I am 59 years old. I am hypothyroid. I have had severe endometriosis and several surgeries for bowel obstructions. Although I have not needed a bowel resection, it has left me with nasty adhesions. I have many, severe and dense adhesions. I also had fibrocystic disease resulting in double mastectomies and reconstructions. In the medical community, care is very disjointed. Few doctors give care based on the patient and the patient’s need. It is mostly based on list criteria and what insurance will pay. I don’t even know what doctor to go to if I were to seek treatment for this. So, I am writing to ask you if any of this mean anything to you in terms of what may be happening with these ghastly bumps?

Hello,

Bumps on the palms commonly occur due to dyshidrosis, a skin condition causing fluid filled blisters on the palms of the hands or sole of the foot. You should apply a good herbal lotion to moisturize the skin of your palms. You may get these itchy bumps not only due to infection or allergy due to contact but also due to ingesting something that causes allergy. Orally you can take antihistamines for relieve, one SOS when required. Take care of your hygiene. Wear gloves while working with your hands.

Commonly bumps on the calves occur due to ingrown hairs, infections, razor burn, nodule, tumor, inflammation, trauma, insect bite injuries, etc. You are suggested to get it clinically examined by a GP. You may be asked to get a few tests, investigations and biopsy if required. You will be treated accordingly. In the meantime, apply cool compress, moisturize the area affected and get it treated at the earliest. Left untreated it may cause spread of infection and disability.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
