What Causes Hard And Raised Welt Around Buttocks?

I was running through the woods yesterday and I thought it was a thorn that stuck me in the butt. I yanked it and and tossed it without looking at it. Now I m not sure what it was because I have about a 6 hard, raised red welt around where it was. Should I worry about this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear patient,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to the thorn,it might be infected.
I suggest to use an antibiotic cream such as Neosporin cream.
I also suggest using warm compresses to relieve the inflammation.
If the symptoms continue, you should see your general Physician.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
