What Causes Hallucinations While On Methadone?
My son is 48, he has been on methadone for 20 years and every day from last year he has hallucination s, of insects, bees, or the latest is he thinks his room is on fire. He also drinks heavily and I do not seem to be able to convince him that he needs to stop drinking or come off the methadone. I am coming up to my 71st birthday, he has been living here for about 10 years and I think it is time we had a normal life, rather than what we have at the moment. When I made a 111 phone call, they were only interested in whether I felt he would harm me and if so told me to call the police, which I think would not help him. Can someone please help? I have no money, and can t even afford holidays, so don t get a break from him and he has not had a holiday. Please help

You have to take him to a psychiatrist at the earliest and start proper treatment. He is having psychotic symptoms and this immediate treatment is required.
