What Causes Hallucinations And Vomiting While Suffering From Prostate Cancer?

My dad is suffering from prostate cancer. He was diagnosed 2 years back with stage 4. These days he takes only 2 spoons of food twice a day and small sips of water. From yesterday onwards he has been hallucinating and today he vomited yellow/green sticky liquid. Our doctors few days back said the end is near, but never provided any time frame. A week back we put a catheter to pass his urine as his prostate enlarged again. He has been passing blood and urine since then.He is taking an - antibiotic for reducing infection from the catheter, - another tablet to reduce burning sensation in urine, - zytiga for cancer treatment and - a sleeping pill to help him sleep (dose not seem to work though) It is very pain full to watch your loved ones going through this pain, Can you tell me how long he has to go through this ? How can I help reduce the sickness feeling ? Can i stop these medication ? will it help him in any way ? How can i help him sleep better ?

Hi,

Noted the history of terminal cancer of prostate in your Father.
I can understand the pains you all the family and the patients are going through.
Electrolyte imbalance is one the causes that can be investigated and corrected to avoid the hallucinations and other problems.
Please get all the relevant investigations of blood under the guidance of your Doctor so that a proper care can be taken, dosages of medications adjusted to make your Father;'s life better.
One has to do as much as possible.
You can shift him to the medical facility for terminally ill patients if such a facility is available in your area.
He needs intravenous fluid and electrolyte supplements.
