What Causes Hair Fall While On Thyronorm?

HELLO,I HAVE HAD HYPOTHYROIDISM FOR PAST 5 YEARS AND I HAVE BEEN TAKING 75MCG FOR QUITE A WHILE, I USED TO TAKE THYROXIN 75MCG. RECENTLY MY TABLETS RAN OUT AND ONE OF MY FRIEND BOUGHT FEW TABLETS FROM INDIA. SHE BOUGHT THYRONORM 75 AND EVER SINCE IHAVE BEEN TAKING IT I AM EXPERIENCING HAIR FALL LIKE NEVER BEFORE.CAN THIS BE DUE TO CHANGE IN TABLETS OR IS IT TOO HIGH I AM TAKING?

Good day.
Have you checked your thyroid function recently? It is good to check CBC ( to look for iron deficiency clues), Vitamin B12 levels etc along with a TFT. stress,Vitamin and iron deficiencies are other causes of hair fall.
To answer your question regarding the adequacy of dose, you need to provide a recent thyroid function test ( TFT) and based on that we can decide if the dose you are taking now is adequate/excess or less. Just a dose change will not cause hair fall provided the TFT is in normal range.
