What Causes Grey Stool And Blood In Vomit Of An Infant?
My daughter (6 weeks old) keeps vomiting and she was in emergency last night for a grey stool and vomiting but they said the blood work they did for her was all normal so they sent us home and we have to call Tuesday to book a follow up. Now today she s been vomiting and there has been 2 times that a red blood looking dot (not a lot) was in her vomit. Now should I take her back to emergency or should I wait till the follow up (seeing as its only a little dot and has happened 2 times (if it gets to be more I will take her but wondering if I should take her in now even though it s only been 2 little dots)

What Causes Grey Stool And Blood In Vomit Of An Infant?
Hello, Grey colour stools in infants may be due to bile obstruction was seen in obstructive jaundice or hepatitis or biliary atresia etc. Blood in vomitus may be due to mucosal abrasion or ulcers or oral bleed etc. Just observe for abdominal pain, tachycardia, tachypnea, dark urine and cough. If these developed then you have to go to emergency. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
