What Causes Green Colored Vaginal Discharge During Pregnancy?
I am 40 weeks pregnant, due today actualy. Im 18yrs old in two days and this is my second pregnancy. Last night i started to loose my mucas plug witch is normal but this am when i woke up it started comming out green. AND also has some chunks in it aswelll. When i lost my mucas plug with my first daughter it looked nothing like this and now im kind of worried. What could be causing it to be chunkie and green?
After going through your query, I realize that your concern is very much valid. Most of the time, the green discharge suggests that the baby is suffocating inside the uterus and calls for urgent termination of pregnancy to save the baby. You are 40 weeks pregnant. So your baby is fully mature and is at a risk of post maturity. At this stage, the green discharge is likely to be meconium. Meconium is the stools passed by the foetus inside the uterus. This happens when the foetus gets suffocated inside the uterus. Also it suggests that the membranes which are covering the foetus have started leaking - again not a good sign. So please do not waste the time. Rush to your obstetrician in a well equipped Maternity Home. Wish you all the best!
