What Causes Gradual Increase In White Blood Cells?

Hi, I am very frightened. My WBC has been slightly elevated for 6 years, going from 11 to 16. I have asthma, allergies, and had a steroid shot 6 weeks ago for asthma. My WBC is 16.49 and my Hematocrit is 36.5. What is going on? I have constant post nasal drip and a dry cough. Could any of those cause my WBC to rise?
