Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Frequent Vomiting While Having Gastroschisis?
My five year old some was born with gastroschisis and has been recently having frequent vomiting. he has an episode of vomiting every 2 weeks for the past 6 weeks. He seems to have been having more and more vomiting over the past year or so. I m concerned that he has scar tissue that is causing his vomiting. Should I take him to see the doctor? What type of treatment would he get if it is just scar tissue? When should I be extremely concerned of his symptoms?
For this reason, I would recommend consulting with his attending pediatrician and performing a fibrogastroscopy. Surgery may be needed, besides ranitidine or antacids.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
