What Causes Frequent Pain In Knee With Burning Sensation?

I am 25 years old. Recently, while sitting on a chair, my knee suddenly started paining with a burning sensation, which didn't last long, but ih started happening very frequently whenever I sit(not always though). Th pain doesn't occur if I am sitting/standing and bending my knees. Though, if my knees are in bent for long, most of the times it makes a popping sound(like if I am sitting on my knees and get up after putting my weight on to the legs with knees fully bent) but doesn't pain mostly. There is no major accident history, apart from one that happened around 3 years back when in order to board my train on time, I jumped quite a height with luggage in my hands. At that time, my right knee started paining, but I had nothing to take care of it in train. Though the pain weared off later after few hours. But, I was not able to do squats in Gym after that(though I am able to push the weights). Consulted an orthopedics, and all he suggested was to use warm water paddings, but it never helped me much. Kindly advise.
