Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Frequent Diarrhea Leading To Dizziness?
I had diarrhea and vomiting Monday. Felt a little better and went back to work on Tuesday because the vomiting had subsided. I ve had watery stool all week but not as frequent as Monday. This morning the diarrhea was more severe ( went to the bathroom five times) still all fluid. I am feeling weak and lightheaded. I just bought some Imodium but haven t taken yet. I ve been eating BRAT but did have a hamburger last night. Is this likely the stomach flu or would that have subsided by now?
Hamburger is associated with infection mostly E.coli. Do you have blood in stools? Need stool examination for accurate diagnosis, take ORS after every stool at least 140 ml per stool and ondansetron symptomatically for vomiting can be taken. Yes, Imodium or Loperamide can stop stools, antibiotics can be prescribed by local physician.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
