Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Frequent Abdomen Pain With History Of Having IBS?
I have been having stomach issues for years and have been diagnosed with IBS, however after my latest episode I have been questioning that. I get severe pain in my upper abdomen following meals. Seems to happen more often after eating fresh fruits and veggies. It is debilitating and usually puts me into the fetal position for hours. I ve been in the ER three times because of it but they have never done an ultrasound or anything further than just giving me pain meds. I did have an endoscopy and colonoscopy about four years ago that both came back clear. I will sometimes feel partial relief after making myself vomit or consistently belching. I ve told the doctors before that I feel like there is a big knot somewhere and then the pain just radiates from there along with chills. Any thoughts on what is happening?
