What Causes Fractured Roots Post Root Canal Treatment?

I recently had 2 root canal treatments by an Endodontist. After getting an abscess in one and the crown falling off on the the other I found out that both root canals have fractured roots. Now I am left to have these 2 teeth pulled. My dentist says my X-rays were fine no fracture before root canals. Should the Endodontist be at fault for going too deep into the root ??? I'm sick over this and can't afford 2 implants!!

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain fractured roots after root canal treatment can occur depending upon the location of fracture..
In case if the perforation is at the area when the two roots are joined, that is the furcation area then it is during the making of access cavity while root canal is started and it is operators fault but actually is accidental..
If the fracture is along the root length then it can be due to weakening of the root during the root canal procedure if the root canals are over prepared to retain the filling and there are only thin tooth material is left in the root..
As you bite something hard the root are liable to fracture..
So whether it is Endodontist fault or not can be decided only after knowing the exact location and cause of fracture..
You should get your teeth extracted and you can also go for bridge if you do not have affordability of implants..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
