What Causes Foul Smelling Orange And Brown Bleeding During Menstruation?

My period blood is orange and brown and smells weird and has become very light in last couple months I use to get it for 7 to 10 day and it s only been lasting 3to 4 days I ve not been on birth control for over a year and can get pregent starting to worry

Hi,

Orange brown bleeding or discharge often indicates an infection, bacterial vaginosis or trichomoniasis. Women with orange brown bleeding during period should check for other symptoms, such as vaginal itching, discomfort and foul smelling discharge. Again, orange period blood can be the sign of period blood mixed with cervical fluids. However, bright orange menstrual bleeding can also indicate an infection. It can be an early sign of a vaginal infection. In many cases, brown discharge is old blood that is taking extra time to leave the uterus. This may occur at the beginning or end of menstrual cycle. Brown discharge may be normal or some underlying causes can be associated with this discharge. Some investigations like vaginal swab for C/S, urine R/M/E and C/S, USG of W/A etc should be done to find out the exact causes and then treat them accordingly.
