What Causes Foul Smell In The Nose After A Sinus Surgery?

After sinus surgery I have had a foul smell in my nose on the left side for two years! It usually happens in the spring and fall with allergy times. Moisture makes it worse so I’m unable to use Flonase. Do you have any idea what this is because it’s horribly embarrassing?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

The foul smell in your nose could be related to nasal or sinus infection. Get a nose swab culture to rule out infection or treat it adequately.

Keep good nasal hygiene.
If it will continue, consult further with ENT specialist to rule out any sinus issues.

All the best.
