Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am in my mid sixties and over the past 2 months have started experiencing what feels like bubbles or a fluttering of what I think is a vein on the right side of my groin. It does not hurt but since I have had a blood clot before I am concerned. It is happening more often of late and occurs while sitting or standing any time of the day.
Dear-Thanks for using HCM and understand your concern, specially because you already experienced a blood clot in the past. The most common area of blood clot is in the lower extremity, in the lower or middle part of the leg. It is painful, the area get swollen and red . You are describing a fluttering sensation in the groin, painless and mostly when sit and stand. That goes more with an irritation of the hip or groin tendon and not with a blood clot. I recommend you to take an analgesic like acetaminophen to see if improves. I hope that my advise has been helpful. Dr.Sara
