my 9 month old had a temperture of 101.4 yesterday afternoon, since then his overall mood, eating, and energy level has improved. But now 12 hours later his temperture has fallen to 95.9. What does that mean? he sleeps in a room where the air temp is at 72-73 degree.

Thanks for the query.
The average body temperature for infants range from 97 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit .
The average body temperature for children may vary depending on the season and their level of activity too.
In a child, any temperature that exceeds 36 degrees Celsius or 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit is considered to be high and is medically classed as a fever.
Low body tempreture may be due to being without protective clothes in cold weather, wet clothes, Excessive dehydration, Hypothermia could also be due to anemia, Drop in the child's blood sugar levels, infection.

High fever or body tempreture may be due to infection, viral or bacterial, malaria, heat stroke etc

See a doctor if problem persists.
Hope i helped you.
