I am being weened off fentanyl 50 mg patches. I was on them for about 2 & a half years. This is my decision. I was put on .01 clonidine seven day patches the first month. Then went to .02 clonidine patches when reduces to 25 mg fentanyl. Just reduced to 12 mg fentanyl patches but still at .02 clonidine 7 days patches. I will come completely off the fentanyl on May 8. But my doctor says I then will need to be weened of the clonidine.....I have been on 20 mg of quinapril each day for years which controls my BP. But since I have been on these clonidine patches my BP has gone up & down without rhythm or reason. Since I have been in these clonidine patches for only 3 months, and under a doctor s care should I worry about withdrawals from the clonidine. My doctor never informed me that this medication could cause me any problems. Stressed out!
