What Causes Flatulence And Green Stool?

Suddenly, (within 24 hour period) stool color changed from brown to green. Recent increase in passing uncontrollable gas that smells horrible--husband left our bed twice last week because the sound and smell kept him up. No change in diet. Tried charcoal tablets two days ago, which has helped with the gas. But green stool is concerning me. Especially, from one day to the next. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear. Thank you for using Healthcaremagic. I read your query and I understand your concern. There are many reasons for green stool.
1 diet change too much chlorophyll in diet. Green leaf vegetables
2. Infection diseases such salmonella.
3. Autoimmune diseases. Celiacia or crohn
4. Gallbladder dysfunction.
I recommend you to do a stool culture to exclude infection. Than most suspected is celiacia. Hope my answer was helpful. Best regards.
