What Causes Fishy Body Odor And Sweating In The Groin?

I had a fishy smell from my body for a few hours with a little sweat especially in private area. The day before I ate fish. The smell was gone after drinking water and taking a shower. What caused that to happen? That has never happened before. How can it be prevented?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Fishy odour in groin can be most likely from pathogenic bacterial colonisation. In females it is bacterial vaginosis. In that case antibiotics like metronidazole will be helpful. Take plenty of plain water. Using antiperspirants and deodorants will be helpful also.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
